About Dads Dojo
I’m on a mission to create a supportive, inclusive space where dads of all backgrounds can connect, reflect, and thrive. How? Through shared wisdom, cultural insights, and evidence backed practices.
How do Dads Show up?
Emotional Mastery
Fatherhood isn’t just about providing for your family—it’s about understanding and managing your emotions. By embracing vulnerability and emotional intelligence, you create deeper connections with your child and partner, fostering a healthier family dynamic.
Active Presence
Being a dad means more than just showing up physically. It’s about being present in every moment, actively engaging in your child's growth and development, and modeling the values you want them to inherit. Your time and attention are the greatest gifts you can give.
Continuous Growth
Fatherhood is a lifelong journey of learning and growth. The best dads are those who stay open to change, constantly reassess their approach, and commit to being better every day. Embrace challenges as opportunities to grow and lead by example.
Meet the Dad-in-Training
Aloha! I’m Brad, and I’m on a mission to navigate fatherhood the way I approach most things in life—with curiosity, strategy, and a healthy dose of humor. Born and raised in Hawaii, I’ve always had a love for the outdoors, cooking, and—let’s be honest—eating (my grandfather always said, “A boy that loves to eat should love to cook,” and I’ve taken that motto to heart).
As I prepare for the incredible journey of fatherhood, I wanted to create a space where I could not only learn from different perspectives but also share my thoughts, insights, and the frameworks I’m developing to raise my child. Dads Dojo is my place to archive everything—from emotional wisdom to scientific strategies—so I can be the best dad I can be, and one day, share this journey with my future children.
Fatherhood is a constantly evolving journey. It’s no longer just about being physically strong or emotionally stoic. For me, it’s about being present, leading by example, and teaching my child what it means to show up—no matter the challenges. I’m approaching this with a blend of scientific strategy and emotional depth, striving to optimize everything before my baby arrives while staying flexible and open to the unexpected. After all, the best lessons often come when we least expect them.
I believe in learning together and supporting each other through this transformative experience. Let’s navigate the journey of fatherhood together, one lesson, one connection, and one meal (because cooking is involved, of course) at a time.
